Bushcraft – Porter
Core range: 1st release / October 2015.
Alc %: 4.5
Hand crafted London Porter – deep, dark & bitter. Hints of cocoa, rich in roasted notes & subtle smokiness. Our take teases with a twist of foraged fruit along with both craft & aged hops.
Text colour: Purple/Blue
On the back of the Artisan Project experimental craft beer range, the porter recipes were tweaked & developed leading to this mainstay from Old Town Brewery.
For those craft beer geeks after some tech info the bitterness lands at around 50IBU and the colour, as you’d expect for a craft beer porter, is almost spot on 70 EBC. The reason we say ‘around 50IBU’ is because – along with the new world hops – we use a decent chunk of aged hops of a noble variety. The aged process is not exact, but gives us a punch of finer hop qualities without overkill on the main bittering acids. To get to the 50IBU figure we use well established calculations based on storage conditions/environment.
‘Around about’ works just fine for us. Enjoy.
